Match funding in the amount of $2,923,213 will be provided by Alaska Village Electric Cooperative, Inc. (AVEC) for a total of $16,140,454. The site selection process will evaluate the feasibility of locating the new power plant proximate to the community's water treatment plant, which would support the inclusion of a recovered heat system which would capture excess heat off the power plant's generators and supply it to the water plant.
