Scope of Work:  This project will construct Phase II of the 2.5-mile Gambell Evacuation Road and a 6- mile extension of that road, the key subsistence use areas at Akeftapak Bay and Teveghak Bay. A third branch of the project will access the local cemetery. The road will be built to AASHTO standards with an 18-22-foot width and a 25 mph speed design. A crushed gravel surface will be installed. This combination of road segments will significantly improve travel between the community and these three destinations, improving safety and traveler comfort, reducing wear and tear on vehicles and reducing fuel consumption to destinations currently over unimproved tundra.
