Scope of Work:  The scope of this award is to develop and test a Williams Magnetic Loaded Composite High Power Flywheel. Testing will occur at the University of Alaska Fairbanks wind-diesel hybrid applications lab. At the conclusion of the demonstration, a report will be prepared that documents the performance and reliability of the flywheel, details the requirements for the power electronic interface with the AC grid, and outlines next steps toward commercialization and integration of the system into a site in Alaska.
