Scope of Work:  The Denali Commission is providing $200,000 in FY 11 FTA Section 5309 funds and $50,000 in State of Alaska General Funds to the City of Unalaska for the design and acquisition of ship-capable mooring buoys for installation at a designated site to provide secure moorage for distressed vessels. Those ships using the secure moorage are likely vessels in transit along the Great Circle Route, and increasingly, vessels using the seasonal Bering Sea Route between Asia and Europe, and other ships working in northern latitude waters.
